As one of the largest private foundations in Germany, Stiftung Polytechnische Gesellschaft Frankfurt am Main is dedicated to working for the benefit of Frankfurt and its citizens.
Its work is concentrated in three main areas:

• Education, science and technology
• Arts and culture, including preservation of the city's cultural heritage 
• Social, charitable and humanitarian work.

The Foundation supports schemes for the general public and also those aimed at encouraging excellence. In addition to its established areas of sponsorship it also identifies groups or parts of society which are in need of special financial assistance.

The Stiftung Polytechnische Gesellschaft was founded in October 2005 and is pursuing the ideals of the founding fathers of the Polytechnische Gesellschaft from 1816. They dedicated themselves to raising the profile of the city in the fields of education, science, technology, culture, industry and trade.
